A rear extension to a Californian Bungalow, with new kitchen and family room opening to the garden; re-planning of the ground floor opening up a continuous zone of living spaces from the private entry courtyard at the north to the garden at the rear.  The upper level contains 3 bedrooms and a rumpus room, with a void over the family room below. 

A compact extension, set largely within the existing roofline, with a surprising sense of space, contemporary open plan living and restrained detailing, sensitive to the existing character of the house.
